image details

Description
Swarf are the coils of razor metal that are the usual by-product of machine tools in engineering machine shops. The metal looks benign; but cuts hands easily. Transforming the swarf into a dog provides a memorable visual representation of the dangers of swarf.

Leonard Cusden was a designer who worked extensively for RoSPA over many years.
